Car welding repair guide

Liz Rowe

There are several reasons why a car might require welding. Here are a few common reasons in a brief car welding repair guide:

Rust repairs: If your car has significant rust damage, welding may be required to repair or replace the affected areas. This is especially common in older vehicles or those exposed to harsh weather conditions. (Like sea salt, rain and our general weather conditions!)

Frame or structural damage: If your car has been involved in an accident or collision, the frame or structural components may have been damaged. Welding may be necessary to repair or reinforce these areas to ensure the structural integrity of the vehicle.

Exhaust system repairs: The exhaust system of a car is often subjected to heat, moisture, and road debris, which can cause it to develop leaks or rust. Welding is frequently used to repair exhaust pipes, mufflers, or catalytic converters.

Custom modifications: If you want to make custom modifications to your car, such as installing a roll cage, upgrading suspension components, or adding aftermarket exhaust systems, welding may be necessary to properly install and secure these modifications.

It's important to note that welding is a specialised skill and should be performed by a professional or a qualified technician to ensure the safety and proper repair of your vehicle. A shoddy job and you'll be back again!
